4themembers is a grouping of mainstream trade union activists and members within PCS. We are committed, absolutely, to democracy. Our range of personal political views encompasses the mainstream political spectrum from the centre to the left. As trade unionists, our anchor is in the general principles of liberty, equality, solidarity, human rights, social justice, provision of welfare and free & fair elections.
Under our leadership PCS will focus on providing high quality support for members and representatives by spending members' subscriptions responsibly, sensibly and on what is really needed. We will always put trade union issues before personal politics and we stand against all forms of extremist politics.
We will change PCS by focusing on the day-to-day issues that affect PCS members - job security, pay and career prospects. We believe that public services should be provided locally for the mutual benefit of communities and PCS members.
We will involve everyone in policymaking and decision taking, not just those who can attend meetings. We will strive to make PCS services excellent by providing better training for and working with lay representatives and PCS staff to put members at the heart of the union.
